Report

Report:Our 2nd of 4 straight home fixtures was against a weakened York RI side due to strange fixture setting the club championships are being held this week! Which idiot would do these things! (Marc any Idea?)*

Back to normal order.
PC on first and no marker was needed as Jon was a true gent on court and called all his double bounces and strokes which makes a nice change. PC got over the shock and ridicule of last weeks loss with a solid 3-0 win.

Mr T a leviathan** of a man was up against someone of similar build (déjà vu). Mr T breaking his normal 5 set rule, to also win 3-0.

A trend was starting as we needed 20 points to keep pace at the top but also we wanted to help our 2nd team keep a higher position.

El Capitano back to his rock like performance after a slight wobble and 2 losses recently he continued his winning ways 3-0. However Marc played some great squash and ran hard and finished the game with the quote of the day.
El Capitano “You should have asked for a stroke on that last shot”
Marc “I know it was a stroke but I do not have the legs for another rally”

Del Boy was in good spirit as he entered the club having just signed up Casey to a 2 racket a week direct debit. Spondulicks were floating above his head, soon replaced by squash balls as Thom displayed some great squash skills. The best game of the night broke the trend and gave York RI two worthy points.

Bob finished the job of like a good un after John finally circumnavigated Wakefield 20 times and arrived to go straight on. He has no excuses next week as York RI are back at Wakefield to play the 2nd team.

York RI left with the taste of Chinese Surprise in their mouth***. And our thoughts turned to next week’s top of the table clash with Ponte 3 at home! We have decided to serve the Sausage Stew before the game in the hope of slowing some of them down!

*Only joking you are doing a fantastic job and York RI championships had nothing to do with you. (However since you were playing tonight does that mean you went out in the 1st round?)
**Sea monster does not really go but my thesaurus is running out of words!
***Bob no comments please.
