Mr T v JB
Great first game and Mr T was cursing not winning it after he took the next two. Mr T’s outside string then went (Obviously not the middle one!) and the change of racket did not suit him as he lost the next two too easily. Good sportsmanship by JB offering a let when the string went, however Mr T declined saying if it had gone up I would have claimed the point! Fair play.
One
The Artist v Maverick
A few glimpses of a masterpiece but only a glimpse as two shots rolled out the nick. The Maverick took over and eased through this game to stay top gun.
Four
Del Boy v PD
Del still trying to shake off injuries and his cider barrel came up against a very cool and experienced player, not an ideal opponent in this situation. He nearly pulled off a second game win but PD stepped it up just in time.
Three
Bob v Gav
So far this season Bob has played 4 games and lost them all 2-3 so no crystal ball required for this one! However 2-0 up and 6-1 up we were starting to take bets on a win. But he wanted his monies worth so took it to five and lost again. No comment on what was suggested could break the curse!
Two
El Capitano v Pedro
Yet again it was down to me to rescue some pride however Portugal’s No.3 proved to strong and fast so a miserable fail. So we adjourned to the bar for a few pints/pies/chips/peas/gravy to drown our sorrows.
Quick sulk then game face back on as another home game next week against fellow strugglers Woodfield for a crucial game that must be won.
