| Report: | It was another hot evening and the courts were hot with action too. Alan and Joss played first with a good duel with lots of action across centre court, but it was Alan coming out on top in three straight. Dave and Graham were up next with Dave cruising 11-3 in the first, but Graham fought back in the second and third games, but dropped too many consecutive points to push it to a fourth game.
The final match between Joe and Iain was power vs poise and every game was tight with long rallies. I was sweating just watching these two, so don't know how they kept going. It was Iain coming through in the fifth game to take the victory.
Special thanks to Raymond who came out to watch and bring the infamous Haxby Bromwich beef pies with some mushy peas. Was a good meal with good chat...all except Alan who missed out after having to leave early (next time mate). |
