| Report: | The overall points earned from this match does not reflect how tight this was, a match that really could have gone either way! The three seeds were up first, they have played each other before (advantage Beverley) but Mark came with a game plan that very nearly worked. He was patient, consistent, playing the rallies and forcing his opponent to make mistakes. This worked well in the first, fourth & fifth games, but a few silly mistakes at the end of the fifth game, which he was dominating, lost him the match! An easier ride for Beverley with the 2nd seeds, a good match with long rallies, but John controlled the 'T' and held the lead well in each game. The final game was really well contested with the 1st seeds who had a similar style of play. It was a battle of the 'wit's' really as they shared the first four games with some impressive rallies and winning shots. Scarborough seemed the stronger in the early stages, but Paul used the boast well in the last two games to win this evenly matched contest. A really good night of Racketball with good pizza and drinks enjoyed after in the clubhouse. |
