Report: | Good fun match- even better banter during meal. But will players understand how rude it is to let your captain down as question was asked a week before how many staying for tea & any dietary requirements. He assumed all his players were staying for food.
Our player spent Sunday afternoon cooking for 9 players (we have a player with celiac who could not eat the tagine) only to find two did not stay, one of whom apologies on the night one did not- parents of juniors playing in teams should also know better.
Wigginton and Malton are the only remaining clubs who's players make the effort to cook food to entertain, I believe, the meal and banter after the match is an integral part of being in a team as was the case on Sunday as we put the world to rights in a good fun night out.
So a message to all league players, as per the Y & D AGM call....respect the food providers regarding your attendance and keep the home captain informed. It is not just about a squash match it is a social too! |
